- Lessons can be reserved at a regular weekly time, e.g. every Tuesday at 7 pm, or on a lesson to lesson basis, if preferred and subject to availability.
- Students with a regular booking are expected to attend reliably during term times, although timings and commitment may vary according to need during school holidays. It is understood that very occasionally a student may need to cancel a lesson. Under these circumstances please give as much notice as possible. Do note that cancellations at less than 48 hours notice are non-refundable and lessons will not be rescheduled in lieu.
- In the event of the tutor cancelling a lesson, a mutually convenient alternative lesson date and time may be agreed, where convenient for both the student and the tutor. Alternatively, a refund for the lesson will be offered.
- Lessons can be ‘face to face’, ‘online’, or a mixture of both, according to the preference of the student. On occasion, ‘face to face’ tuition may not be possible, even at short notice, for example due to illness, bad weather and so forth. It is expected that the lesson will continue ’online’, but otherwise take place as scheduled. If the student does not wish to go ahead ‘online’, the lesson will be payable in full. Students will need an internet connection, suitable device, such as a laptop or iPad, and to have provided their contact details for Microsoft Teams and / or WhatsApp, in advance.
- Lessons are invoiced monthly in advance and payment must be received by the first day of the calendar month. Payment for occasional ad-hoc lessons will be discussed and agreed on an individual basis.
- Students are expected to arrive promptly, as lessons are unable to be extended in the event of delay.
- Students should bring the appropriate equipment to the lessons, e.g. pencil, pen, ruler, calculator, compasses and protractor. Whilst we do have some spare materials, it is in the best interests of the tutee if they get used to working with their own equipment. Pupils need to bring their own exercise books or folder and paper, so they can keep their work properly organised.
- Student behaviour must, at all times, allow for focused and rapid learning.
- No food or drink may be consumed on the premises, with the exception of water, unless for medical reasons and agreed in advance.
- It is the parents’ responsibility to ensure that the tutor is aware of any special educational needs and disabilities that may affect the student’s learning.
